The Lake Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park are 2 crater lakes filled-in by rain water through the decades - Lake Danao and Lake Balinsasayao. They are separated only by a thin ridge where a 2-storie tower has been constructed for optimum view of the spectacular scenery. Nestled at 918 meters above sea level on the Cuernos de Negros mountain range, the trip going up the mountain offers unprecedented views of the neighboring islands - Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor.

How to Get There from Dumaguete:
    By public transport:
  • take a pedicab (tricyce) and ask to be taken to the jeep or bus terminal going or passing through San Jose
  • tell the jeep/bus driver to drop you off the junction going to the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes. This is after you've passed Sibulan proper but before you reach San Jose proper. ~30 minutes
  • from that junction, it's a long uphill road. Hire a motorbike (habal-habal) to take you to the lakes. Make sure to arrange for your return. P150 one-way
    By private transport:
  • from Dumaguete, take the national highway going north. After around 14 kms, you'll see the big sign on the left "Twin Lakes". Take a left on this junction. You'll start gaining altitude. You'll be at the lake after 13.5 kms from that junction.
